GTBH 6/23/24: An Expected Sweep In an Unexpected Place

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was an eventful week for the Cards, playing games in three states and winning a majority of them, even if it wasn't how you'd expect.  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) talk about different ways to look at the Marlins series, from disappointment to bump in the road.  They also discuss the Cardinals catching situation with the injury to Ivan Herrera as well as what the roster issues might be as people get healthy.  There's also talk about the pitching, including a salute to Sonny Gray's game on Sunday.  Finally, there's discussion about the Rickwood game and if there can be any icons any more.  Longer running time but hopefully worth it!

GTBH 6/16/24: A Great Holiday

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cards took both series they played this week which should put a bounce in the step of Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor).  There's still a lot of questions around this team, like what are they going to do for offense when Pedro Pages gets demoted?  Miles Mikolas has been great and Andre Pallante has stepped up enough that the fifth starter question is about to get interesting.  All that and much more!

GTBH 6/10/24: Blogger and Podcaster Day at Busch

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) got together this weekend in Busch Stadium but that doesn't mean that they actually recorded anything.  Instead, with a couple of days to process, the guys get into what the experience was like both for the new guy (David) and the old veteran (Daniel, obviously).  They also discuss John Mozeliak's comments on player development, Jordan Walker, center field, the fifth starter, and much more as well as discussing the current state of the team.  Daniel tells stories of how things used to be and David tunes him out as is right and proper.

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cardinals took a hot stretch into Philadelphia and were treated like a little brother that had violated their big brother's bedroom.  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) recorded this as Game 3 was going on and the Cards tried to salvage something from the weekend.  Topics include: concern about Sonny Gray, excitement about Nolan Gorman, lots of praise for Masyn Winn (and then watching him make some misplays), Andre Pallante as fifth starter, and Jordan Walker's first homer.  Big show for a big week!

GTBH 5/27/24: Soggy Cardinals Still Soar

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cardinals only lost one game this past week, so why are Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) still stressing out?  After all, the club has made up ground in the division, swept the powerhouse Orioles, and won two rain-soaked games against the Cubs.  What's not to like?  Well, there's still some weak spots in the offense and the bullpen is putting off some warning lights.  Could there be help on the horizon?  And the guys also get into the surprising news of Angel Hernandez retiring.

GTBH 5/19/24: Two Out of Three Ain't Bad, But It's Still Not Good

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Redbirds won both of their series last week, but Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) aren't throwing any parties just yet.  There's still a lot of concerning things with this team even if things are a little more optimistic than they were a week ago.  Is the offense coming around just in time to see the pitching go south?  What should the club do with Matthew Liberatore and the fifth starter spot?  Should Dylan Carlson being playing more or Jordan Walker returned from Memphis?  All of this and these two fashionistas tackle the City Connect jerseys as well!

GTBH 5/12/24: The Worst Week of a Terrible Season

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Redbirds won on Sunday for the first time all season but that's really all the good news Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) have about the last seven days.  The Cards dropped all their games with only a rainout sparing them from a complete set.  They lost their catcher and main offensive weapon when Willson Contreras's arm got in the way of J.D. Martinez's bat.  The offense didn't pick up the slack, either.  There are a lot of issues with this team and the guys pick through most of them.

GTBH 5/5/24: Really? Losing to the White Sox?

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was a pretty miserable week for the Cardinals, dropping series to the Tigers and the worst team in baseball coming into this series.  What's a team to do?  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) don't really have any solutions, but they definitely can point to some problems.  What will it take to get some offense around here?

GTBH 4/28/24: This Week Was Not Offensive

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cardinals won both series they played this week and were one strike away from getting a sweep at CitiField.  That doesn't mean everything is sunshine and roses for Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor).  There's no doubt that the bullpen has been remarkable and the starting pitching more stout than expected, but where are the bats?  Why can't they seem to find a groove?  We know where Jordan Walker is--at Memphis, trying to find his stroke.  Was that the right move?  All this and much more!

GTBH 4/21/24: The Kyle Gibson Episode

Two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) have real concerns about the offense of the Cardinals and how things are trending in a very similar direction as last year.  There's no solutions here, but before we get to the concerns and complaints, David had a chance to interview Kyle Gibson (@kgib44) earlier this week.  So listen to that and then maybe stick around for two grumps.  We also had some recording glitches, so we like the Cardinals also had trouble making contact.
