GTBH 8/4/19: Dueling Ranters

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Fair warning, this is not an upbeat show this week, as Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) spend a lot of time talking about the lack of activity at the trading deadline by the Cardinal front office.  Can the lack of activity be defended?  Where does the blame lie?  How frustrating was it to see nothing happen?  The results on the field have caused their own frustration, as the Cards have slipped to 1 1/2 games out after losing three of four since the deadline.  There's talk about Matt Carpenter, Lane Thomas, Harrison Bader, Yairo Munoz, Randy Arozarena, Tommy Edman, and much, much more.  Get comfy, these two have a few things to get off their chests!

GTBH 7/28/19: Wheeling and Dealing

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  While the Cards dropped their last two to the Astros, that was the first series they'd lost since the All-Star Break.  Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) talk about how the team is performing and what the expectations for it may be before diving into roster issues, most notably that looming trade deadline.  With Marcus Stroman (apparently) off the board, both Daniel and Tara have one main focus.  Who might it be?  There's also talk about players getting healthy and how that might work.  Come for the talk, stay for the Tara rant!

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Except this week, when you get three of them.  Allen Medlock (Red Dirt Redbird, @amedlock1) joins Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) as they break down all the happenings of the ninth annual Blogger Day event at Busch Stadium.  The event had a different flavor this year, partly due to the setup, partly due to the team.  Is Harrison Bader at risk?  Did the Cardinals err in their new offensive curriculum?  Does Tara gloat in her #bombsaway trifecta?  You'll have to listen to find out!  (But yes, she totally does.)

GTBH 6/30/19: Singing the Same Song

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  This week, Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) don't have a lot of wins to talk about, but the one they do have is the most recent game.  That doesn't necessarily mitigate all this issues this team is having and both are a little tired of "it'll happen" talk.  Mike Shildt's comments this week, while not as inflammatory as some think, caused a little irritation as well.  Plus there's discussion about Jordan Hicks and what things are like now that he has had Tommy John surgery.  Buckle up for another frank discussion!

GTBH 6/23/19: The Return Doesn't Solve Everything

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was a lovefest this weekend in St. Louis as Albert Pujols returned to the Gateway City and both Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) loved seeing El Hombre back at Busch and the reaction from the fans, the players, and everyone involved.  There are a lot of good memories that Pujols brings back.  Will the Cardinals ever have that sort of transformative player again?  Can they find someone to lift them out of their doldrums?  What can be done about this team and how far up does this same-old-same-old go?  The good feelings don't last forever and there are some tough questions to be asked.  Listen in to see what you think!

GTBH 6/9/19: Is The Cardinal Way Broken?

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  This week, the Cardinals went back to Wrigley and... well... as Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) explain, things didn't go well. But that's not all that isn't going well. In fact, there's an argument to be made that NOTHING is going well. Again. On whom does the responsibility fall? What can the Cardinals do to change course? WILL they do anything they haven't already tried before? The record has been broken for a long time now, and someone keeps playing it over and over, just for fun. (Spoiler alert: it isn't fun anymore.)

GTBH 6/2/19: The Calendar Has Turned. Have the Cards?

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  June is here and whether it is because of a new month or just finally getting some breaks, the Cardinals are on a four game winning streak after sweeping the Cubs out of Busch.  Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) are obviously quite excited to talk about winning Cardinal baseball for a chance, but that doesn't mean everything is hunky-dory.  What was that with Adam Wainwright on Sunday?  It worked out, but it was quite an interesting decision.  Does Jordan Hicks need to move out of the closer spot?  Does the rotation need the now-draft-pick-less Dallas Keuchel?  Plenty of pitching talk but a smattering of talk about the offense as well.  Oh, and Tara would like to again point out, Kolten Wong is #good.
