Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  After a very bumpy ride (and with a little help from their new best friends in the Mile High City), the Cardinals are back in the playoffs as divisional champions.  Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) talk about this team, how it got through to the playoffs, and whether some of the decisions on Sunday were a pointed rebuke of the team across the way.  They also discuss how this title is different than 2015 and what might be coming in regards to the postseason roster.  Time to fly, everyone.  October is waiting.

GTBH 9/22/19: We Don't Believe What We Just Saw

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Or at least they try to, because this week Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) are pretty dumbfounded by what the Cardinals did this weekend.  So much so they don't even touch the Nationals series, where the Cards beat Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer.  No, all the attention is on this weekend, where for the first time in almost 100 years, the Cards swept a four-game series in Wrigley Field.  Your intrepid hosts try to make sense of it but spend much of the time just reveling in what was a remarkable weekend for baseball (and for Mike Shildt's Manager of the Year hopes).  Come in and join the celebration!

GTBH 9/15/19: Gut-Wrenching

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  An agonizing loss on Sunday dropped the Cards to just two games ahead of the Cubs with a tough two week stretch to go.  Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) talk about some of the decisions that were made in Sunday's games and what the losses mean for the team going forward.  They also discuss the lackluster offense and what to expect in the coming week.  Plus some thoughts about Adam Wainwright!

GTBH 9/8/19: Starting to Feel Real

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Another very successful week for the Cardinals, coupled with the Brewers taking care of business against the Cubs, has Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) riding high.  The Cards have reached 81 wins and have a 4.5 game lead in the division.  Daniel and Tara talk about how they've gotten there (the offense, the starting pitching) and what has started to show a little strain (the bullpen).  Plenty of fun things to talk about as the Cardinals drive toward October!

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  In the midst of Doubleheaderpalooza, Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) find time to talk about this first place Cardinals team and, for once, really have nothing to complain about.  They talk about the revitalized offense, the rotation that's keeping the team in the games, and the club's ability to rally.  Keep giving us the good stuff, Cardinals!

GTBH 8/25/19: Time To Fly

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was a very good Sunday, as the Cards completed their second four-game sweep of the season and the Cubs and Brewers both lost, giving them a 2.5 game cushion (4.5 over Milwaukee) in the division.  Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) go over all the ups and downs of this team, looking particularly at Michael Wacha's usage, Matt Carpenter's week and what his strong Sunday means, and Jack Flaherty's dominance.  The birds look to be taking off.  Let's see how far they fly.

GTBH 8/11/19: Throwing Pirates Overboard

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  A sweep of the Pirates over the weekend didn't completely salve the feelings of Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) about this team.  Can they beat the better teams or are they only able to handle the lesser squads?  Did Lane Thomas do enough on Sunday to get to stay in the outfield or will we still see plenty of Tommy Edman out there?  Is it really wise to run Michael Wacha out again the next time the team needs a fifth starter?  It's not necessarily an upbeat show--there are still flaws with this team--but it's better than before the weekend began!

GTBH 8/4/19: Dueling Ranters

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Fair warning, this is not an upbeat show this week, as Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) spend a lot of time talking about the lack of activity at the trading deadline by the Cardinal front office.  Can the lack of activity be defended?  Where does the blame lie?  How frustrating was it to see nothing happen?  The results on the field have caused their own frustration, as the Cards have slipped to 1 1/2 games out after losing three of four since the deadline.  There's talk about Matt Carpenter, Lane Thomas, Harrison Bader, Yairo Munoz, Randy Arozarena, Tommy Edman, and much, much more.  Get comfy, these two have a few things to get off their chests!

GTBH 7/28/19: Wheeling and Dealing

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  While the Cards dropped their last two to the Astros, that was the first series they'd lost since the All-Star Break.  Daniel (C70 At The Bat, @C70) and Tara (Birds on the Black, @tarawellman) talk about how the team is performing and what the expectations for it may be before diving into roster issues, most notably that looming trade deadline.  With Marcus Stroman (apparently) off the board, both Daniel and Tara have one main focus.  Who might it be?  There's also talk about players getting healthy and how that might work.  Come for the talk, stay for the Tara rant!
